Meet the Team: Sheehan Niethold

Friday, December 16th, 2016

Sheehan Niethold is the new Program Assistant; she provides administrative support for the Chief Strategy Officer and the NLN program staff and consultants.

Where are you from?

I was born in Denver, Colorado, but raised in beautiful Reno, Nevada.

Where do you feel most at home?

I feel most at home anytime I’m with my family, no matter where that is.

What inspires you, professionally and personally?

Personally I am inspired by my family because of the unconditional love and support they have always shown me.  Professionally it is the mentoring I have received from the people I have worked for and the different lessons I have learned from each of them.

In terms of your work for the National Latin@ Network, what are your areas of expertise or what areas are particularly interesting to you?

My area of expertise comes from my experience in the administrative arena. I have years of experience supporting and organizing a variety of people and organizations. And I hope to continue that path, and build upon it, for the National Latin@ Network.

Who inspires you?

Those who are dedicated to their work but are able to balance work with their personal lives and have a rounded work/life balance; and also my family because they are all very hard workers and have succeeded in their respective fields.

What do you do to relax, de-stress or recharge your batteries?

I derive peace and contentment at home being with my pets and close friends. I enjoy taking my dog out for walks, going out to eat, to the movies, reading or watching TV as a way to relax and de-stress.

Why have you chosen to do this kind of work?

In part because I enjoy the processes of the administration field, but mostly because of the opportunity to help others in need. And I hope the experience I bring to the National Latin@ Network will be helpful to those we serve.

What is your favorite food?

I love pot stickers of any kind!

What is your favorite book?

The Stand by Stephen King.
