Sexual Assault Awareness Month: Social Media Toolkits to Raise Awareness

Friday, April 13th, 2018

Logo for NO MASIn observance of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), the National Latin@ Network of Casa de Esperanza has put together a series of tips and information taken from the DECIMOS NO MAS Campaign website, to help organizations raise awareness around how parents can talk with their children about healthy sexuality and healthy relationships. This information is provided as a social media tool kit, containing pre-prepared graphics ready for social media, with accompanying messages. The graphics and corresponding messages have being grouped into four sets each of which can be used for a separate week, by they are free to be used any way you best deem. Here is a link to the tool kit materials: https://www.decimosnomas.org/en/tools/campaign-materials/.

One of the challenges many culturally specific organizations face is raising awareness or engaging in prevention work through linguistically appropriate tools such as graphics and messages. For this reason, and true to Casa de Esperanza’s commitment to reaching culturally specific communities in their appropriate languages, all materials were created bilingual, in English and Spanish.

We often hear that the number of bilingual materials is limited at best and whenever we have produced bilingual toolkits for organizations, the engagement has been tremendous. This motivated us to produce this resource with you in mind, which is being made available totally free of cost for you to use and share.

We encourage you to make use of this material, and encourage your networks. Please tag us on Twitter and Facebook @decimosnomas for Spanish and @wesaynomas for English. Casa de Esperanza can be tagged @casadeesperanza on Twitter and @casadeesperanzamn on Facebook. Feel free to use this social media kit for your personal social media accounts, as well.
